Welcome to the Guy-Lacombe Institute of the Family website!

We are a Family Resource Centre in the Alberta Family Resource Network. We provide support to French-speaking families in Edmonton and Northern Alberta.

We also offer certain paid services, including a French-language library and toy library, and after-school childcare.

Our mission is to provide a welcoming community for every Francophone and Francophile family member and to listen to their needs. We equip and support them in improving parenting skills, child development, youth support and social connection. We aim for happy and healthy families.

IGLF accomplishes its mission by supporting families in the following areas:

Our Services

Library

Come and discover our library in the heart of the Francophone community of Edmonton! The IGLF library and toy library includes over 17,000 resources for all family members.

After-school daycare

The IGLF offers a daycare service to welcome children from French schools after their school day.

This service is for children from kindergarten to grade 6.
The service is offered Monday to Friday from 3:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Franco-Chouette Summer Camp

The Guy-Lacombe Institute is pleased to offer a unique summer camp for children aged 6 to 12 where all activities are conducted in French. The perfect opportunity for your children to make new friends, learn about teamwork, and relax in a safe environment.
