Welcome to the Guy-Lacombe Institute of the Family website!
We are a Family Resource Center in the Alberta Family Resource Network. We provide support to French-speaking families in Edmonton, and in northern Alberta.
We also offer certain paid services, including a French-language library and toy library, and after-school childcare.
Our Vision Mandate Mission
The Institut Guy-Lacombe de la famille equips Francophone and Francophile families in their development and fulfillment in French in a dynamic and visible Albertan community.
The Institut Guy-Lacombe de la famille supports Albertan families to thrive in French and to develop their knowledge, skills and competencies.
The IGLF accomplishes its mission by supporting families in the following fields:
- Education in parenting skills
- Child development
- Support for adolescents
- Library Service
- Promotion and maintenance of the French language
- Community engagement
The IGLF offers a day care service to welcome children from Francophone schools in Gabrielle-Roy and Ste-Jeanne-d’Arc after their school day.
This service is intended for children from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
The service is offered Monday to Friday from 3:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.
We are happy to be able to offer our spaces to the community. Contact us at 780-468-4882 or at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details on room availability and rates.
